Days 24 - 25 Update fasting week 3 & 4
56
Well folks it’s been about a month into my fast, Christmas is quickly approaching, and life for most people is getting hectic, I think I’m going to take a few days off writing my daily update, and pick it up after Christmas. That doesn’t mean that I’m going off my fast, just that I’m going to concentrate on a few other things. I will probably still write but I’m not going to put a “day**” in front of my column. So I will pick up with day 30 on December 26th. As far as what I plan to do for the holiday. I was suppose to eat today, but I’m going to hold off till Christmas eve, and have breakfast, then on Christmas Day I will go out to a Chinese restaurant and have my normal Christmas meal, then back on the fast the next day.
As for how everything is going, I have some good and bad news. First the bad news is that it was my intention to try to get out of the house for a second time each day. Well that’s been a complete failure. I think that I only got out three time last week, which is of course more than I had done in the past 4 months, so there’s progress, but still I didn’t reach my goal and that’s a little disappointing. It’s really hard for me to break a pattern which I have developed for decades, of just coming home and crashing after I get all my work and running around done. So that’s something that I’m going to have to really work on.
The good news is that even though I’m not getting out for a second time, I’m trying to increase the activity when I do get out in the morning. Right now I’m walking around the parking lot before going into mass everyday. My goal is to build my muscles up enough that I can do 5 laps around the parking lot without feeling like I’m going to faint or collapse from exhaustion. At that point in time it might be safe for me to start walking to church everyday. The Church is only about a mile away so it’s a very achievable goal. But I’m not there yet, just the little I’m doing is leaving me huffing and puffing with my back hurting and my legs feeling like weights that I can hardly move. But day by day, I build on what I’ve previously have done, and I will get there. Just a short month ago I was huffing and puffing just getting out of bed, now I’m walking around the parking lot? I would have told you that it was physically impossible, to have archived what I have in such a little bit of time. I’ve made progress beyond my wildest dreams and can see a future opening up for me.
As far as the fast is going, I am amazed by the whole progress. It surprises me that I have not missed eating. And with this one meal a week gig I have going on, I look forward to that one meal, but am satisfied for the week. I don’t know if it’s a combination of the stuff I’ve been taking or my age, or the fact that my meals just got so boring, with the adventure of going out once a week. I’m more satisfied than when I was stuffing my face everyday.
As far as how much I’ve lost, there is not way for me to tell you right now, I swear that my skin is starting to droop and get loose all over. I don’t know if this is my imagination or not, I have had to tighten the drawstring in my pants a couple of times, but my shirts feel like they are fitting the same way. Of course I do buy oversized shirts so loose is loose and it’s hard to tell.
I feel great; I’m not experiencing that fatigue that I had the first week of the fast. I have no headaches, my energy level and stamina is building. My bowels movement and urination is normal. I’m drinking more water and I swear my skin is clearing up. I couldn’t be happier.
So keep praying for me, and sending me your good vibes.
I hope all of you have a wonderful holiday, as I said I’m going to take a little time off with my daily updates and concentrate on writing a few other things. So enjoy your holiday and I will see you all after Christmas
Peace
